Irene Chen is the current Executive Director of Yulan Culture Co., Ltd., holding a Ph.D. in Religious Philosophy from Temple University in the United States. Her professional background spans the anthropology of religion, women's studies, and oral history, and she is skilled at transforming in-depth field research into cultural texts with public significance and a sense of history.
She served as president of the Taiwan Association for Religious Studies during its 10th and 11th terms, and has long carried out editorial work for core journals under the National Science Council. She has traveled to India and Malaysia to conduct cross-national research on religion and Hakka communities. In recent years she has worked deeply in the local area of Nangang, systematically documenting the stories of local figures and the threads of local industry, making them an important asset of cultural heritage.
Executive Director Chen formally joined Rotary in May 2024. She is one of the founding members of the Rotary Club of Taipei Sustainable Impact (the Club). In the early days of the club's founding, she strongly recommended conceiving the club's name from the direction of ESG and the SDGs, and served as founding secretary. In November 2025, she took office as the founding chair of the Taipei Sustainable Impact Inclusive Satellite Club, continuing to demonstrate her profound humanistic care and capacity for social practice.
