Rotary Club of Taipei Sustainable Impact
The Club is a theme-based Rotary club whose core mission centers on "sustainable impact". We believe that the most concrete expression of the Rotary spirit is creating change for society through our own professions.
Our Members come from a wide range of industries: architecture and design, local revitalization, social enterprise, environmental advocacy, printing and design, information systems, travel empowerment, and spatial planning. Each Member brings the professional expertise accumulated over many years to respond to the diverse needs of the community and the world.
For the Club, "Service Above Self through one's profession" is a daily practice. Doing one's professional work well is, in itself, a form of sustainable action.
· Impact requires time to accumulate, and it needs to be seen and passed on.
· Individuality is a strength, not a problem. The differences among Members are what give the Club its depth.
· The report serves as an introduction, while the knowledge base provides long-term value.
· We are willing to open up our process of documentation, so that other Rotary clubs, chambers of commerce, and profession-based communities can learn from it.
The Club advances its affairs through regular meetings, committees, and a division of responsibilities among Members, safeguarding the quality of service and accountability mechanisms with the Rotary spirit. The full governance structure and meeting system will be presented progressively in subsequent reports.
Monthly regular meetings focus on ESG and sustainability issues. Members learn together, deliberate together, and act together. The governance mechanism is primarily based on consensus, encouraging new approaches and reducing the burden of tradition.
Committees are formed according to the needs of the Club, with Members taking responsibility based on their professional expertise. Members are encouraged to take on Club roles drawing on their own vocational strengths.
We adopt the IOOI results chain and the four-stage cycle from Maximise Your Impact to build a foundation of impact that is trackable, verifiable, and accumulable.
