I. A Cross-Domain Practitioner: Where Drama, Business Management, and Child and Family Studies Meet

Maya Cheng (Meiya) excels at role empathy and the energizing power of play, transforming social issues into life experiences with the power to move. Working across the fields of drama, business management, and child and family studies, in the first half of her life she pursued quality education, exploring teaching methods, child development, parental beliefs, and parent-child interaction. She won the silver medal in a national creative lesson-plan competition and was certified as a creativity seed instructor.

During cross-strait exchanges, she drew on all she had learned together with her problem-solving ability and took over a kindergarten that had changed directors four times in succession and was on the verge of collapse. Within a year she brought it back into operation, demonstrating her practical resilience in dealing with complex human dynamics and in managing institutions.

II. Extending Care for Life to Environmental Sustainability

In recent years, Maya has extended her focus to environmental sustainability. For three consecutive years she carried out the "Living Water, Close Neighbors" community-building initiative, and in partnership with multiple organizations promoted the Xizhi waterfront countryside wellness walk and urban greening citizen action, using applied drama as a medium for social participation and communication to mobilize local residents to invest in local sustainability practice.

III. At the Club: Co-Building Sustainability Plans with Warmth

In joining the Club, she collaborates with like-minded partners, putting forward proposals for Taipei community revitalization and exchange, and drawing on decades of accumulated experience to help drive positive social change. She looks forward to using nature and art as bridges to build sustainability plans with warmth and resilience, continuing to create impact within partnerships.
